When I’ve had too much reality . . . I open a book!

Be Happy This Year
This is my FIRST non-fiction book and I am over-the-moon excited by how well it was received! A collection of stories about finding gratitude, passion and joy and filled with pages where you can color and journal. The message is simple . . .
Every life experience holds a blessing, lesson or reason to celebrate.
The goal is to find it!
Turn the page for inspirational messages about the pursuit of gratitude, passion and joy. Then add your own personal twist to each monthly color and journal page.
What are you waiting for? BE HAPPY THIS YEAR!!

If only there were 50 hours in a day!

… I’d have all these books written!

There’s lot’s of news regarding the Time Series. First, Tethered Through Time, A Vision in Time, and It’s About Time are all getting new covers. Tethered has also been reformatted, and the new files will be updated by Memorial Weekend. Tethered’s new cover is SO BEAUTIFUL! I can’t wait to share the gorgeous work done by Airicka Phoenix!!

I’m also in the planning stages for an inspirational, feel good, workbook called Happy This Year. The workbook will feature several of my columns from 85 South and About, along with pages for gratitude, thoughts, and journals. My sister and I are working together on a non-fiction piece to help families with aging parents. Sadly, we’ve been through a lot this year. Our mother has transitioned from independent living, to assisted living and now to nursing home. The last 6 months have been filled with highs and lows and we have learned a lot. We certainly don’t have all the answers, but we believe our experience might help other families. Tentatively titled, I’ll Love You For Always – A guide for helping aging parents, should be available by the end of 2016.

I see Josh and Julia in my head all the time:) And they are very beautiful people!!

From my January 2016 column Turn the Page …
Happy New Year!!

As the New Year begins, it is common for people to look for ways to change certain things in their lives – whether it’s improving relationships, focusing on health and fitness, or tweaking the little things that just make life better. For the past three years I’ve been setting what some would call ridiculous goals. I started in 2013 with 13 New Year’s resolutions. The next year I jumped to 14, and yes last year hit the almighty 15. If you’re wondering will I write 16 promises to myself again this year – the answer is YES! And I plan to set goals for myself, increasing by one each year, until 2020. I’m only a little bit crazy so my plan is to stop at twenty.

I’m a big believer in maximizing life. Whether you have yet to discover your passions or you already have a long list of them (like me) it’s always great idea to keep searching for more. Maybe the idea of resolutions is a bit archaic, but having my list front and center on gigantic poster paper in my home office keeps me focused. Writing down what I hope to accomplish for the coming year gives credibility to each idea, and referencing my list in this column and to my friends and family holds me accountable.

My head-to-toe wellness plan is also going to involve getting back to basics. Basics – Dillon style. With gratitude, passion will grow. If you’ve never kept a gratitude journal before, this is the year to start. Begin each day by recording tens things you are grateful for. Whether you realize it or not, gratitude promotes passion. And passion promotes joy. I spent an hour tonight flipping through some of my old gratitude journals. I’m pleased to report the smile plastered on my face is a result of that reflection. I was reminded tonight I have so much to be grateful for. Keeping a gratitude journal is number one on my list for 2016.

As we move into this New Year full of new promise, remember there are so many beautiful things to be happy about. Focus on the good in people, choose to always hold a glass that is half-full, and be fearless with what sets your soul on fire. Find your passion and be happy this year.

Welcome! As you can see we are making a few changes around here! I thoroughly enjoyed giving life to GONE READIN’ but  decided to put ALL my energy into developing my columns and books. I couldn’t bring myself to archive all the pages belonging to Gone Readin’, so I decided to leave up a few blog rolls for reviews and WELCOME guest reviewers to submit their thoughts on both new AND old books. So for now – PARDON MY DUST while I make a few changes.  B.A. Dillon
